Paris Day 14: Finding ways to get along (cliffnotes)

After class, went back to apartment to pick up mom and Aunt Yo.

To Luxemborg gardens, since Aunt Yo expressed a desire to see famous gardens. However, it wasn't really her thing.

Checked out St. Suplice. I hope to come back for an organ concert after Sunday mass, or on 4/29.

Musee D'Orsay. Aunt Yo needed some special attention to find a place to sit and relax and have some refreshment. It's not a generational difference, because my mother is just like me ... energetic and wanting to see everything. Aunt Yo is like a prim and proper lady from the 50's. Most of the time it's fine. Sometimes it's maddening.

Loved C. Claudel's "Age of Maturity," and the display on Le Chat Noir. The rest is a bit of a blur right now.

Had dinner at the museum cafe, which was recommended. In a word, it was horrible. The worst dinner I hope to have in my stay in Paris!

So sorry to hear that you thought the cafe horrible--it was one of our favs in Paris. I wonder if has changed? We went for lunch rather than dinner, so perhaps that could be the difference?

Yes, it was very odd! Both of my guide books, plus my aunt's in Japanese, and your recommendation turned out to be very wrong for the dinner. It might be because they dobn't often serve dinner. The physical cafe was delightful ... we were right by the window and could see the lights, but the food was tres mauvais!
