Up BEFORE the crack of dawn this morning. Picked up Pilgrimgirl and we drove down to San Clemente for the Joseph Smith Symposium. Presenters included Robert Millet (BYU ~ Joseph Smith), Jeff O'Driscoll (~ Hyrum and Joseph Smith), Joseph L. Bentley (OC Director of Public Affairs ~ Trials of the Prophet) and Richard L. Bushman (Columbia University ~ Joseph Smith).
Especially liked Bushman's remarks. His presentation was scholarly and well-documented, without losing that human element. He discoursed on how studying the life of the prophet Joseph Smith can help us be more Christlike.
After the symposium, I snapped a couple photos of the panelists, and PG got her book signed by Bushman. Photos may appear in church news with PG's write-up.
